CIVIL SOCIETY GOOD GOVERNANCE INTERFACE, ORGANIZED BY CIVIL SOCIETY GROUP FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE, IN COLLABORATION WITH OTHER ALLIED CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS, HELD 11TH SEPTEMBER 2019 IN ABUJA, ON THE THEME; PEACE BUILDING PROMOTION AMONG THE CITIZENRY, THE GAINS, TOWARDS ENGENDERING NATIONAL COHESION
“The initiative for leadership and economic watch in Nigeria, commend the Air Peace Airline for evacuating first batch of 178 Nigerians willing to come back home from south Africa, Amb. Agbonkpolor Aironmwanbor Splendour, the Executive Director, Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria made this known in statement on Thursday following the successful evacuation of Nigerians living in south Africa, whose lives were under grave threat of death by xenophobia attack.’’
“Amb. Splendour, commended the honorable Minister of foreign affairs, Mr Geoffery Onyeama, for his swift action towards the evacuation of Nigerians from South Africa, and further extolled the Proprietor and Management of Air Peace Airlines for bringing in the first batch of Nigerians, which numbered 178, who willingly decided to return to Nigeria, due to the incessant xenophobic attacks in South Africa, while Nigerians, Ghanaians in Europe seek AU’s intervention.”
‘Amb. Splendour. Speaking at Civil Society Good governance forum interface, with the Theme; Peace Building Promotion Among Citizenry, the gains, towards engendering National Cohesion, expressed serious concern over the evacuated Nigerians, and stressed the need for their rehabilitation before resettling them with their respective families in order to cushion the psychological effects that the xenophobia attack on them and its associated Trauma that the returnees may going through at the moment, who are still been traumatized’’
“Also speaking at the forum, the president of Civil Society Group for Good Governance, Comrade Ogakwu dominic, further praise Air Peace Airline over the kind gesture, admonished that Nigeria returnees should remain law abiding, even has they are back to their fatherland, that the governments care about their safety, not only in south Africa alone, but also in all other parts of the world’’
“The first batch of Nigerians arrived the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos at 9.23 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, Ogakwu who expressed profound appreciation for the proprietor and management of Air Peace Airline to have volunteered free air transportation for Nigerians that has voluntarily decided to return to Nigeria, and commended the evacuation initiative of the Federal Government’’

Ambassador Splendour further commended Nigerian Government over evacuation initiative employed in order to finding lasting solution to the unfortunate Xenophobia attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. Mr Allen Onyeama, Proprietor of the Airline had volunteered on 5th September 2019 to send an aircraft to evacuate Nigerians willing to return home free of charge. While 640 Nigerians have indicated their desire to return from South Africa and had registered to do so.
“More to it, has further shown Humanitarian Land Transport Support Volunteerism, by Frank Jully Motors, to convey Nigeria returnees from Lagos to their various states of residence in Nigeria to meet their respective families as a token of support to the Federal Governement and to Nigerians from South Africa, free of charge, Mr. Frank Anumudu Nnolum, the Chairman/CEO, Frank Jully Motors. Made this known during the event which happened 11th of September 2019, speaking during the Civil Society Forum for Peace Building and National Development program organized by Civil Society Groups for Good Governance.

“Mr. Frank have volunteered free transportation logistics, by way of deploying ten (10) of his Executive Siena Vehicles for the transportation of Nigerians that have arrived from south Africa, to their respective states of residence, as part of his support to government and Nigerian Returnees. This is a demonstration of a true patriotism and independent selfless service to the Nation”
Also speaking during the forum, Comrade Olurunfemi Edwin, The Executive Director, Centre for Policy Advocacy and Leadership Development, call on spirited Nigerians to emulate the patriotic posture of Mr. Allen Onyeama, Managing Director, Air Peace Airline, and Mr. Frank Anumudu Nnolum, the Chairman/CEO, Frank Jully Motors, and expressed further displeasure over the actions of South Africa youths against Nigerians living in their country, which he considered inimical to the peace, unity and development of Africa continent, that South Africans violated the diplomatic peace truce between both countries, and push for more diplomatic understanding and tolerance among Africa Nations, he added”
“The representative of National Human Right Commission, Akwa Ibom State, Coordinator Mr. Tony Iji, who chairman the event, sue for peaceful coexistence among Nigerian youths, and urge the Civil Society groups present at the interface to remain committed to peace building in the society, and that it’s the only way we can achieve Scio-economic development in our Nation, he further expressed appreciation for the transportation gesture given by two spirited Nigerians who has distinguished themselves to render humanitarian selfless service to their fatherland in this moment of need, to transport Nigerians who has decided to join the evacuating list of Nigerians coming from South Africa, and by extension, the goodwill of Frank Jully Motors, to further convey Nigerians from South Africa to their respective States through land transportation, that Mr. Frank Anumudu Nnolum have provided.’’

“Comrade Ogakwu, further urge Nigerians to remain committed to peace building in Nigeria in order to engender an egalitarian society, Ogakwu while speaking in the aforementioned program, organized by Civil Society Groups for Good Governance. in collaboration with other Civil Society Groups held 11th of September, 2019, at Glamour Park Hotel and Suites, Utako District of Abuja, opined that Peace and Unity remains the Hall of the Development any Nation, He added.’’
