MATCHING WORDS WITH ACTIONS CHARACTERIZES IBRAHIM MAGU’S ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGEMENT OF HUMANS AND RESOURCES OF THE ECONOMIC AND FINANCIAL CRIME COMMISSION IN SUSTAINING THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA WHICH CANNOT BE LEFT UNSUNG AS INTEGRITY AND TRANSPARENCY REMAINS MAGU’S WATCHWORD

‘‘The seemingly experienced economic stability in the country can only be ascribed to the efforts from various quarters, relevant stakeholders for which EFCC remains the most vital organ of government when it comes to financial security. The EFCC oversees financial transactions across every sector of the nation’s economy to ensure checks and proper monitoring of financial transactions under the Nigeria economic space in order to tame fraudulent transactions which further buttresses the efforts of the EFCC in safeguarding the economy of the nation, to bring about a robust economy towards growth and infrastructural development of the nation with international best practices in ensuring that MDAs keep to all financial regulations in adjudicating financial resources during operations, which must be within the ambit of extant laws’’

‘‘Those opposing the reappointment of Magu are riddled with negative motives inimical to the development of the nation. These were what affected the performance of the previous EFCC administration and that is why Magu stood firm to resist everyone that had the potentials of undermining his work, not to allow EFCC to be pocketed under his leadership by crooks, thereby, remaining committed to President Muhammadu Buhari’s Anti-corruption stance with a holistic approach towards absolute protection of the Nigeria economy’’

‘‘We, therefore, call on Mr. President not to allow the naysayers to succeed in their evil ploy if Nigeria wants to sustain or surpass the present temple of achievements in the fight against corruption’’

‘’Bowing now to opposing pressure on the matter of EFCC Chairmanship will not serve the interests of the generality of Nigerians who are solidly behind Mr. President in the fight against corruption. Allowing the present status quo to remain will further consolidate on the great feat achieved so far in the fight against corruption in Nigeria under the amiable leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari’’

‘‘The EFCC is a financial transaction supervision base component of the economy that has the capacity of monitoring financial transactions in Nigeria and beyond, to ensure adequate compliance to financial regulations and extant financial laws guiding government operations with respect to MDAs. This obvious fact expatiates the need to follow the sequence in wrapping up 8 years full administration on a sensitive matter as financial transaction, supervision, and control billed to reducing financial crimes to its barest minimum, which remains the core focus of Ibrahim Magu’’

‘‘Interference into the administrative sequence of the present EFCC leadership at this material time with regard to another four years tenure in office will further rubber stamp the remaining four years in the fight against corruption in Nigeria because the wolves are gathering and if allowed to have their way, will certainly devour the economy. If Magu goes, the grand plan of the worrywarts to further cast spanner in the wheels of progress of Mr. President’s fight against corruption in Nigeria will be a success and this should not be allowed to happen in order not to jettison the obvious achievements of the current Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu’’

‘‘The record of achievements bares it clear that Magu has done tremendously well in the fight against corruption in Nigeria, as Chairman, Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, which further underscores the need for the commission to double efforts in order to surpass the present achievements in a manner that places the commission on top of her works and to foster national economic security, which opens up more room for improvement in the fight against financial crimes which will strengthen the system and put the EFCC in a positive light in the public domain’’

‘‘The truth must be told about the administrative leadership of Ibrahim Magu when it comes to curbing corruption in Nigeria. Matching words with actions is one aspect of the EFCC that puts the commission in the minds of the people, seeing the unbelievable revelations unraveled by the Chairman on financial crimes perpetuated in MDAs. People who have retired from service are been asked to come back and account for financial malfeasance.

The credit goes to President Muhammadu Buhari for counting Magu worthy to occupy the chairmanship position of the EFCC against all odds. This is a demonstrated readiness and confidence of the President in tackling financial crimes in Nigeria”

‘‘We use this medium to urge Mr. President to resubmit Magu’s name for conferment. Allowing Magu to continue in office for another four years will translate to economic gains, more recovery of stolen funds, and more monies for the federal government to work with. The Civil Society has confidence in the administrative leadership of the present EFCC Chairman. We believe Mr. Ibrahim Magu’s administrative leadership if
given another opportunity, will leapfrog the National economy to an enviable height’’

‘‘It is against this background that the Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria and over 747 allied civil society sister organizations reiterate her vote of confidence and endorsement for Magu’s reappointment for another four years in office’’
