CSOs honour FCT Director, Development Control, for outstanding performance

Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), on Friday honoured the Director of Development Control, FCT, Mr MuKhtar Usman, with an award for his outstanding performance as a public office holder.

Amb. Splendour Agbonkpolor, Executive Director, initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria, led the group to the director for the presentation of the award.

He said that the award was geared towards motivating others to follow suit.

According to Agbonkpolor, this is to motivate others to do more to improve the system when they are appointed to serve the public.

He said the CSOs, as conscience organisations, were compelled by Usman’s outstanding performance to honour such a deserving and worthy character.

He described Usman as a transparent and accountable leader, who had strengthened his department to perform maximally in bringing to bear a transformative and purposeful leadership.

This, he said, had earned Usman the nomination and endorsement of CSOs in the country for such a unique award.

He said the CSOs’ outstanding leadership performance award was put together by a collective decision of over 400 Civil Society Organisations across the 36 States and the FCT.

This, according to him, was what made it priceless and golden to receive, adding that it is a great and prestigious honour.

The presentation of the award of honour was witnessed by some reputable CSO delegates to spur excellence in service and promote dignity in labour.

“It is an honour for initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria to decorate Usman.

“We are all present to celebrate a man of impeccable character and repute; a season administrator per excellence, a transformer, a trail blazer and a humble personality.

He said Usman deserved the Award, saying that the CSOs would partner with his office, to continue to promote Usman’s virtue and good works as a recipient of Initiative for Leadership and Economic Watch in Nigeria prestigious honour. (NAN)
